What to know about this Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box
An Elite Trainer Box is a starter kit for a set, not just a bundle of packs. Alongside the boosters, it includes sleeves, Energy cards, dice and a storage box, so a new player can open packs, build a deck and keep cards organised from the start.
Inside this standard box are nine 30th Celebration booster packs, the full-art foil Nidorina promo, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, a player’s guide, six damage-counter dice, a competition-legal coin-flip die, a plastic coin, a collector’s storage box with six dividers and a code card for Pokemon TCG Live.
The chase is Pikachu. Every pack contains one Pikachu rare card, with 30 unique Pikachu variations to collect across the set, alongside Mewtwo ex, Mew ex, Umbreon ex, Salamence ex, Greninja ex and 30 classic reprints. The set also introduces the Futuristic Rare rarity, which makes this a landmark release for anniversary collectors as well as regular players.
Pros
- Nine booster packs plus a guaranteed full-art foil Nidorina promo in one box
- A complete play kit: sleeves, Energy, dice, coin and storage box included
- Every pack contains a Pikachu rare, with 30 variations to collect
- Classic reprints and popular ex cards make it appealing for collectors and players alike
Cons
- Pulls are random — the 9 packs do not guarantee any specific Pikachu variation or rare card, so collectors chasing one specific card may need to buy more.
Buy it if you collect Pokemon TCG, want to mark the 30th anniversary, or are starting to play and want a ready-made kit. Sealed collectors and openers will value it differently: keeping it sealed preserves the complete, unopened box, while opening it gives the packs, promo and accessories to use and display, so choose the approach that suits your collection.
Skip it if you only want one specific Pikachu variation or rare card, because random pulls mean that card is not guaranteed, or if you do not play or collect the trading card game and would prefer a toy or figure instead.
For Pokemon TCG fans, this is a well-rounded anniversary box: generous contents, a strong Pikachu theme and a useful play kit in one package. Just buy it for the experience and the collection as a whole, rather than for one guaranteed pull.
